How to record a set people want to hear to the end
A recorded mix is a business card. It needs to tell a story, not just string tracks together.

Promoters listen to a lot of mixes and decide quickly. A carefully recorded set shows selection, technique and personality in just a few minutes.
Think in arcs
Start with something that introduces who you are, raise the energy gradually, build a peak and leave room to breathe before the end. A set that is maxed out the whole time is tiring.
- Length: twenty to forty minutes works well as an introduction.
- The first minutes: they are the most listened to. Put your identity there.
- Levels: record without hitting the red. Distortion gives away amateurism.
- Names: keep the tracklist, because people will ask for it.
